Story time or how I fell in love with nut butter
Let’s take a trip down memory lane back to the year 2007. Little Julia went to the US for the first time for a student exchange. And not only did she fall in love with the country but she also discovered the love of her life: peanut butter!
I don’t know just how many PB&J sandwiches I had in my three weeks in California but it were A LOT!
So ever since then I’ve been obsessing over peanut butter. Over the years I also found my love for other nut butters. One of my all time faves is definitely almond butter. One thing I have barely ever seen in stores anywhere was macadamia nut butter. Which is unfortunate because macadamia nuts are probably ranked under the top 3 of my fave nuts.
Then there was this one moment when I stood in my kitchen and was snacking on some macadamia nuts. I saw my blender that up until this moment I thought wasn’t capable of making nut butter. But I just wanted to give it a try anyways. And I was pleasantly surprised by my handy little kitchen gadget because it did quite a good job. So if you are looking for a good blender but you don’t want to spend a lot of money I can just recommend getting a NutriBullet*. I’ve had it for almost 4 years now and I’m using it almost daily.
So I threw in the macadamia nuts and some cashews to make the nut butter more creamy. This alone was already a heavenly combination. But I was in for something a little extra so I added a few more optional (but highly suggested) ingredients.
